HIA in the Americas - March 2010 Workshop

A diverse group of participants attended the workshop, representing non-profit organizations, local and state health departments, private consultants, universities and foundations. Over 50 people from the US, Canada and elsewhere were in attendance.

The structure of the workshop included presentations from leaders in the field, a poster session of HIAs from around North America, large group discussions of where the field is headed, and small group break out sessions discussing major challenges and strategies facing the field, including: addressing the quality of HIA practice, NEPA and the relationship of EIA and HIA, stakeholder engagement in the HIA process, monitoring and evaluation of HIA, and issues facing emerging HIA practitioners.

Below you will find various materials related to the workshop. Please note that these materials are not reflective of everything presented at the Workshop.
